About us
Savera UK is a leading national charity working to end ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and harmful practices, including forced marriage, conversion ‘therapy’, female genital mutilation (FGM), and virginity testing.
It campaigns to eliminate HBA and harmful practices and provides life-saving services including safeguarding and advocacy for those at risk or under threats, regardless of age, culture, sexuality or gender.
We use education and community engagement to change people's perceptions, empowering them to identify HBA and harmful practices and respond appropriately.
‘Savera’ means ‘new beginning’ in Hindi, a theme that is symbolic of the service the charity provides to survivors and those who are at risk or under threats of HBA and harmful practices.
